Please welcome the Queen.

Who the hell is Celiné? I am the one! From now on everyone's going to scream out Rochas not Celiné! We've had enough of her. Have you ever seen any Celiné bags in those irresistibly sweet and dreamy colors. NO! So that's my turn bitches!

Love,

Getting Surreal...

Lately, I've been reading 'David Bailey: Look', a monograph on David Bailey, whom-I strongly believe that-revolutionized fashion and portrait photography.

The book covers his entire career, from 1960s to 2000s. Each one of the photographs is highly inspirational and thought provoking, yes, but I think it's the explanations near the photographs what makes the book so precious. In 7-8 lines, at most, it tells you the story behind the photograph, the things that might be overlooked when you look at it.

Whokay, let me get down to brass tacks, throughout the whole book, the one that has haunted my mind is the photograph above. David Bailey's wife, Catherine Bailey, holding with one hand her and David's by then little daughter, Paloma Bailey, and with the other a dandelion, showing her daughter what to do with a dandelion when she finds one; to blow its seeds away. The photograph itself, at first glance seems like a romantic moment that was shared solely among the mother, the daughter and the father i.e. the photographer. But, when zoomed in, one can see the surrealistic atmosphere of the photo. Both two dressed like they were in Victorian age, Mrs. Bailey is cloaked and crone-like, the dandelion seems like symbolizing the poisonous apple, while Paloma appears stooped and frail, clutching a walking stick, (in fact it's a dog lead) which is completely opposite to the image of a baby the viewer has in mind.

The unbearable lightness of...

Thanks to the infinite creativity of fashion world's beloved designers, there's this reality that shoe fetishists have started to rise in number compared to the foot fetishists. For God's sake, what am I to do with a five-fingered alien shaped foot when there's this otherworldly beautiful shoes out there? Agh! Not to offence anyone but me myself-I guess-have the funniest feet to be found on the Earth. I remember one day going to my mum and saying 'Why the hell my big toe is that much long?!' But when I put on my favourite ballerina flats, ta taam, the magic happens and everyone keeps saying 'How slim your feet look!'. Hearing these I find excuses not to go their home or to my home, because after all these compliments, damn I don't want them to face the reality inside this beauty. So you see? The shoes do the trick.
Anyway, this pair of trainers below, designed by Hussein Chalayan for Puma, are to be the latest fetish items for maniacs like us. Don't say 'Fetish, my foot! Trainers can't be fetish objects.', because damn, they can! May be, OK, this time I may have got fetished by the design. (Is there a term for design fetish?) The shape of them gives the impression as if they have been concreted at the top speed the owner runs.

Innocency

I've bumped into this ring with love messages hidden inside on Pinterest. It was made in France in somewhere between 1830-60. It is the most beautiful ring I've ever seen up until now. The ring itself says a lot when you look at it, something about a rueful and world-weary but also an innocent love story.

Enfin!

Good news for Vogue Paris lovers! The website of Vogue Paris can 'finally' be read in English. I've no idea
(Of course, I do! Aghh, Those French people and their everlasting attitude to this language matter, like 'If you are in France, you gotta speak our own language!') why it took them ages to translate their website into English, but it's better late than never, right?

Love 'em or Hate 'em

Marc by Marc Jacobs

Wedge sneakers; it's a love or hate issue. They used to seem quiet weird to me; in fact, the idea of putting wedges under the sole of sneakers. 'cause you either have sneakers or a heeled/wedged elegant shoes on. I'm a 'either black or white' type of person, that's why I can't stand these 'bestseller' tshirts in Zara, Mango etc. with chiffon on the front and combed cotton on the back side. Chiffon and combed cotton together in one single piece is unbearable for me.
But that was the situation UNTIL Isabel Marant came up with the 'hidden wedge' idea. You seem like having your comfy sneakers on but ta taaam, you look 5inch taller than you normally used to do with them. That, I loved! The surface of the trainers continuing on the wedge does the trick. And now that they've become the 'hit' pieces of all these fashionistas' shoe closet, many of the brands've started to lay their hands on them. Ash,Chloé, Marc Jacobs are the first ones that come up to my mind. And also on ASOS you can find them at an affordable price.

Robot Hands

Not to restrain you from that 'magnificent' Sunday night syndrome you're all probably having right now ( God! I hate the first hours of Monday! And, wait, I have to get up in 5 hours and 53 mins! Agh!) (Okay, no panic, enjoy the moment.) but I've a question to ask you all. While I was checking up on the recently added photos by Tommy Ton on his site, I saw that Asian (I guess) guy smoking a cigar with gloves on. How on Earth can those people manage to smoke a cigar wearing gloves on? Especially with the leather and cosy ones, I mean the ones that don't wrap your fingers slimly. Whenever I attempt to give it a try, my hand holding the cigar seems like a robot hand, I can't bend any of my fingers, cant hold it tightly, nor loosely and freak out! I even once made my friend hold it for me when I didn't know in what way I have to hold the cigar with my gloves on. (Don't say 'Take them off and smoke with bare bands.' The point is smoking with gloves on when it's freezing cold outside.)
As a matter of fact, that guy in that photo looks no different than I do. Do you see how robotic his hand looks?
But there must be a posh way to do it!
Or may be not. May be what makes a cigar look sexy is the form the hand takes and the posture of the fingers while holding it.
