Updated Hourglass Figure

The Sartorialist

That's the silhouette I've been dying to see around. I am a big fan of the extra large 'trend' which have become a fixture of the fashion world for a couple of years. But, it's definitely difficult to manage to use these extra large apparels so appealingly. They have two risks; you either seem too boring (I mean the ones wearing an extra large tee and leggings or a a bulky sweater and leggings, that's risk-free but boring, even my mum does this when she can't find anything else to wear) or too chunky. Some people are hanging around like cocoons, literally. My brother came to me yesterday and said, 'What's wrong with those girls? They're like trying to hide their womanly curves and look like lumberjacks or something! Do they really think they look beautiful that way?' Well, I guess he's right. That doesn't look beautiful at all. The point is wearing extra large apparels to get attention mainly to your slim parts of your body. Think about why a woman wearing nothing but a men's shirt looks irresistibly hot. She's hiding her top but exposing her legs. If you want to rock this trend, you really should expose at least one part of your womanly curves.  And that's exactly what that woman above did. You see how wasp-waisted she looks and her slim legs? That's what I'm talking about.

2Watch

I'm kinda addicted to the editorials periodically appearing on TheOnes2Watch, an online magazine which promotes the fashion industry's up and coming photographers, stylists, hair/makeup artists, casting directors, designers, illustrators and more, as mentioned on the site. And the authorities of the site say, they welcome any kind of contribution you make to the site. And this is really cool for the photographers, stylists, models and others who would like to add a new impressive sheet to their portfolio. So, what I wanna say, stay tuned to this site.
I could use hundreds of adjectives to tell you how inspiring and creative and like a breath of fresh air their editorials are. Instead of this, I'd let the pictures talk instead and the surprise is the last two of the pictures below, belongs to a shoot done by a Turkish team, in Istanbul. Wow, proud of you, guys!

Pastelizing

All kind of sorbet colours, evoking the feeling as if you are standing in front of Ladureé's shop window have always been my favourites. And hooray to that, we'll be seeing a lot of them around in summer days! For the ones who get soothed by pastel colours jut like me myself, here is your medicine; 'Le Parapluies de Cherbourg'. Starring young, naive and fairylike Catherine Deneuve, that movie will definitely impress you.

Out of the Pupa

If I were asked to choose the most elegant animal in the whole planet, I'd go for the 'butterflies'. In fact, okay this may sound weird, I have Lepidopterophobia, that is the phobia of butterflies and moths. I scream out and run away like crazy when I see one flying over me. But, from afar, watching them float into the sky, but not so high, or the way they settle on the flowers are fairly enough for me to get dazzled by them. Their delicate wings adorned with mostly inspiring and unique patterns on them per se are the source of inspiration. So, that's short film starring the butterflies directed by Ryan McGinley for Edun's spring 2012 campaign, has been no exception. The models moving in slow motion and the plain background completely harmonize with the movements of the butterflies.
